New Year celebrations continue into Monday around Montgomery

Millions rang in the new year at midnight, but the celebrations carried into New Year’s Day in Montgomery.

On the first day of 2024, some rang in the new year by roller skating at Eastdale Mall.

The celebration was for those who may have not have made it to see the ball drop on New Year’s Eve.

Roller Palace released thousands of balloons while skaters enjoyed live music from a local music artist.

Circus Delman coming to Montgomery

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – The Eastdale Mall is all set to host the Circus Delman Spectacular from June 23 through July 10.

The Circus Delman was founded in 1984 in Mexico City by Mr. Oney Del Manzano and Mrs. Aida Vazquez, along with his four children, Lorena, Jorge, Roberto, and Alberto. Their mission is to bring joy, magic, and fun to people from all over the world.

Eastdale Mall reports successes, despite malls closing in U.S.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – The Eastdale Mall in Montgomery has been successful as the city’s longest-standing mall for nearly five decades despite a trend of malls closing in the U.S. over the last 15 years.

“We’ve been blessed,” said General Manager Richard Holman.

Holman reported that the mall does not have any vacancies after announcing four new retailers, adding there is a waiting list of businesses wanting to rent out a space.

Eastdale Mall Partners With ADPH to Host A Drive Through COVID-19 Test Clinic

Eastdale mall has partnered with the Alabama Department of Public Health to give out free COVID-19 testing. The clinic will be open this week from 10 am to 6pm, Thursday though Saturday.

The following week it will be open at the same time Tuesday through Saturday. The drive through clinic will be at the Dillard’s location at the mall. ADPH will be providing saliva PCR testing. They are not requiring insurance for testing and you can either pre register or just head over to the mall for testing.
