The Shoppes at Buckland Hills is preparing for a new indoor amusement park in the former anchor space occupied by Bob’s Stores and Dick’s Sporting Goods.

Plans filed with the town show different attractions on each floor. The lower level is slated to include bumper cars, a go-kart track, slides and other recreational facilities, as well as four party rooms. Plans for the upper level show trampolines, obstacle courses and an arcade area, among other attractions.

With the planned amusement park, the Shoppes at Buckland Hills would join malls across Connecticut with large-scale entertainment tenants.

The Shoppes at Buckland Hills mall has found an anchor tenant to take over a 2-story vacancy, and conversion work is already underway for the new 80,000-square-foot children’s entertainment complex filling the space.
