A Paris-based real estate company has sold its second Long Island mall in two years, as it tries to reduce its debt by unloading its U.S. retail properties.

Westfield South Shore in Bay Shore and Westfield Trumbull in Trumbull, Connecticut, were sold by Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield for $196 million Friday, URW said in a statement Tuesday.

BAY SHORE, NY — Westfield Mall South Shore in Bay Shore, along with Westfield Trumbull in Trumbull, Connecticut, were officially sold for a total of $196 million last week.

Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, a French company which owns 21 malls in the U.S. and several international locations, said in a news release that it sold the two malls Friday to commercial real estate investment firm Namdar Realty Group.

Molloy University has opened its new Suffolk Center in Amityville. 

The school’s new facility is at a 23,300-square-foot commercial building on 2.23 acres at 1100 North Broadway. Molloy will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new location on Monday, Sept. 19. 

Molloy relocated its Suffolk Center from a building at Republic Airport in Farmingdale, though its Sustainability Institute and the Energeia Partnership will still be located there.

Concord Mall Mounting a Comeback

Two years after its longtime owner gave up on Concord Mall, the state’s second-largest shopping center has doubled its occupancy rate, attracting an influx of local independent retailers and nontraditional service providers.

On a recent weekday afternoon, foot traffic at the mall was brisk. Families getting ready for the upcoming school year shopped at national retailers, like Foot Locker, Famous Footwear and H&M. They also patronized smaller, locally owned boutiques, including City Blue and Good Vibes.
